How it all started

Rumbos Translations started in 1990 to serve a market niche that was missing a specialized Spanish-English-Spanish translation service.

After 15 years of market research and advertising experience at international level with Marplan Research International/ McCann Erickson Worldwide, Intermarket Research New York, Burke- Investigadores y Analistas de Mercado, and Intermarket Research Argentina, Eduardo Joly, former president of Rumbos Translations, decided to create a company to cater to the translation needs of market research firms.

 

Competitors and colleagues became our clients. We delivered a unique added value: a thorough knowledge of their business, communication needs, expectations, cognitive styles and levels of demand. We spoke the same language.

 

That’s how this business started, and how our team of skilled translators was trained. 

At the end of 2014, former president Eduardo Joly retired and Guadalupe Torres took over the business. Guadalupe started at Rumbos back in 2000 fresh out of college as a translation intern, and slowly worked her way up the organization over the years as she polished her translation skills and learned the workings of the business. Using the knowledge and skills she gained throughout her career, she now leads the agency with professionalism and competence.
